Russian-led forces have mounted 17 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas since Saturday midnight.

"The armed forces of the Russian Federation and its mercenaries have violated the ceasefire 17 times since the beginning of the current day, September 28. The enemy shelled positions of Joint Forces units, using 120mm and 82mm mortars proscribed by the Minsk Agreements, as well as grenade launchers of various systems, and small arms," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in an evening update posted on Facebook.

Eight of the attacks were reported in the Skhid (East) sector: two attacks near the town of Maryinka (grenade launchers of various systems and small arms); two attacks near the villages of Lebedynske and Pavlopil each (a tripod-mounted man-portable antitank gun and small arms), and two attacks near the village of Vodiane (grenade launchers of various systems).

Nine attacks were recorded in the Pivnich (North) sector: four attacks near the village of Novoluhanske (82mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems and small arms), one attack near the village of Novotoshkivske (82mm mortars and small arms), one attack near the Kindrashivka station (82mm mortars), two attacks outside the village of Novhorodske (120mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems and small arms), and one attack near the village of Troyitske (120mm and 82mm mortars).

According to the update, there have been no casualties among the Ukrainian military since Saturday midnight.

"The units of the Joint Forces adhere to the ceasefire and are ready for any insidious and provocative actions of the enemy," reads the report.
