Russia's hybrid military forces on Friday mounted 21 attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine.
"The armed forces of the Russian Federation and its mercenaries violated the ceasefire 21 times on October 18," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in a Facebook update as of 07:00 Kyiv time on October 19, 2019.
The enemy opened fire from 120mm and 82mm mortars, cannons installed on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers of various systems, and small arms.
Under attack were Ukrainian positions near the towns of Avdiyivka and Krasnohorivka, and the villages of Vodiane, Novotroyitske, Talakivka, Berezove, Pavlopil, Novoluhanske, Luhanske, Zolote-4, Krymske, Novotoshkivske, and Troyitske.
According to the update, there were no casualties among the Ukrainian military in the past day.
"From Saturday midnight, Russia-led forces attacked Ukrainian positions four times near the town of Zolote and the village of Zaitseve, using 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of various types, heavy machine guns, and rifles," the update said.
