Militants continue shelling Ukrainian troops in Donbas on Wednesday
From the morning to the evening (1800 Kyiv time) on Wednesday, the situation along the line of contact in Donbas in eastern Ukraine remained tense as Russian-backed militants were continuing to shell Ukrainian troops.
Terrorists used artillery systems, mortars and small arms to shell the villages of Vodiane and Pisky, and the town of Avdiyivka in the Donetsk sector, the press center of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) wrote on Facebook. There was also constant sniper fire.
Militants shelled the town of Schastia in Luhansk region, using 122mm-caliber mortars, while the town of Zolote was shelled from automatic mounted grenade launchers and small arms. The towns were also under sniper fire.
The village of Shyrokyne near the Ukrainian-controlled city of Mariupol in Donetsk region was attacked by a tank, 82mm- and 122mm-caliber mortars, automatic mounted grenade launchers, and small arms.
The Artemivsk sector was under fire from automatic mounted grenade launchers, machine guns, and small arms – militants continued firing on the villages of Kirove, Leninske, Mayorske, and the town of Popasna, while 120mm-caliber mortars were used to shell Lozove and Luhanske and anti-tank guided weapons and artillery systems to shell the village of Rozsadky.
Enemy unmanned aerial vehicles were spotted in the sky in the directions of Schastia-Heyevka and Donetske-Smile.
