Russia's hybrid military forces on Saturday mounted eight attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine.
"On December 28, armed formations of the Russian Federation violated the ceasefire eight times," the press center of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) Headquarters said on Facebook in a morning update as of 07:00 Kyiv time on December 29.
The enemy opened fire from proscribed 120mm mortars, which are banned under the Minsk peace agreements, as well as cannons installed on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers of various types, heavy machine guns, and small arms.
Under attack came Ukrainian positions near the town of Avdiyivka, and the villages of Shyrokyne, Vodiane, Krymske, Orikhove, and Novoluhanske.
Since Sunday midnight, the enemy has not opened fire. There have been no Ukrainian army casualties since then.
