A house was burnt down in Russian-occupied Donbas amid a brawl between local militants and Russian mercenaries, as they were firing weapons, according to the Ukrainian Joint Forces' intelligence data.

"The conflict sparked during the celebration of the New Year in the village of Viktorivka, in Donetsk region's Volnovakha district," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation wrote on Facebook on January 4.

"According to the intelligence data, during the New Year's celebration, representatives of illegal armed formations of Russian occupation forces, using pyrotechnics, small arms, and the ZU-23-2 [anti-aircraft gun], burned a residential building in the village of Viktorivka," the press center said.

As reported, the row sparked between local criminals and Russian mercenaries, as the militants "were unhappy" with the attitude of their "bosses."

As UNIAN reported earlier, Russia's hybrid military forces on Friday, January 3, mounted three attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine.
