Russia's hybrid military forces on January 15 mounted 11 attacks on Ukrainian Army positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as killed in action (KIA).

"The armed forces of the Russian Federation violated the ceasefire 11 times on January 15. One Ukrainian soldier was killed as a result of enemy shelling," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation Headquarters said in an update posted on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on January 16.

The enemy opened fire from proscribed 152mm artillery systems, 120mm and 82mm mortars, UAVs, grenade launchers of various types, heavy machine guns, and small arms. In addition, the enemy engaged snipers.

Under attack were Ukrainian positions near the towns of Avdiyivka and Svitlodarsk, and the villages of Pisky, Vasylivka, Pavlopil, Shyrokyne, Nevelske, Orikhove, and Novotoshkivske.

In particular, the enemy dropped six 30mm AGS-17 grenades from an unmanned aerial vehicle outside Pavlopil.

"Since Thursday midnight, Russia-led forces have attacked Ukrainian positions near the village of Travneve, using grenade launchers of various types, heavy machine guns, and rifles," the update said.

No Ukrainian army casualties for Thursday have been reported yet.
