Donbas militants shell Ukrainian troops more than 30 times on Wednesday
Thirty-one cases of firing on Ukrainian troops and two skirmishes were registered in eastern Ukraine on June 17, according to the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) press center.
Russian-backed militants continued violating the ceasefire in Donbas by actively using the weapons banned under the Minsk peace agreement, the press center said.
After unsuccessful attempts to break through the positions of the ATO forces near the town of Maryinka, militants started to actively fire on Ukrainian troops from every type of the weaponry they had.
"The villages of Novotoshkivske and Orikhove in Luhansk region were under 122mm artillery fire. 82mm- and 120mm-caliber mortars were used to shell the town of Zolote several times," the press center said.
