UN: About 7,000 people killed in Donbas

At least 6,832 people (both military and civilians) have been killed and 17,087 were wounded in the conflict zone of eastern Ukraine since mid-April 2014 to July 27, 2015, according to the report produced by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in collaboration with humanitarian partners.

"During the reporting period, clashes and exchanges of fire between the Ukrainian armed forces and armed groups continued in the conflict zone of eastern Ukraine with military and civilian casualties growing. In total, since mid-April 2014 to July 27, 2015, at least 6,832 people (both military and civilians) have been killed and 17,087 were wounded in the conflict zone of eastern Ukraine," the report says.

The report covers the period of July 11 - August 14, 2015, unless otherwise noted. The next report will be published by the end of August.
