The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has identified spotter of last week’s Sartana shelling that hit residential areas of the village near the strategic port city of Mariupol, according to Ukraine Today.

"The Donetsk People's Republic fired on Sartana...The DNR's 9th artillery regiment," says Vadym Olkhovsky, militant informer, fireman from a local town who was apprehended by the SBU, Ukraine Today reports.

He confessed in being paid RUB 30,000 for directing the fire on Sartana, which killed two civilians; severely injuring a 10-year-old girl and destroying dozens of homes.

According to local activists, shelling by militants is intended to increase locals' fears that a militant offensive against Mariupol is soon to come.
