Gerashchenko: Several Ukrainians can be freed from militant captivity this week
Several more Ukrainians can be released from militant captivity this week, Iryna Gerashchenko, MP, the Ukrainian president's envoy for peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbas, said at a meeting of parliament on Tuesday.
"I hope that this week will bring some good news. We are working for this," Gerashchenko said.
In her words, 10 Ukrainian hostages were released last week.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on October 29, nine Ukrainian soldiers were released from militant captivity, while another one was released on October 30.
As of today, almost 140 Ukrainians are being held captive by the combined Russian-separatist forces, while 788 are considered to be missing in action.
