Situation in Donbas tense: Militants concentrate shelling around Horlivka

"Most of [the militants'] attacks were concentrated near the town of Horlivka. The Kremlin-backed mercenaries fired small arms and rocket-propelled grenades on the Ukrainian fortified positions near the villages of Mayorsk, Zaitseve and Novhorodske," the headquarters said.

In addition, the militants were active near the village of Starohnativka in the Mariupol sector. They fired from infantry armored vehicles on the Ukrainian army positions.

On Saturday, January 16, the Ukrainian troops were shelled 36 times. No casualties were reported.
