"The number of attacks in the Mariupol sector has increased compared to the previous day. If there were four the day before, the past 24 hours saw 14 [attacks]," the ATO press center said.

The enemy was shelling the villages of Staromykhailivka, Trudivske, and Kaplany, using mainly infantry fighting vehicles and automatic grenade launchers. The villages were also under sniper fire.

In total, the combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 52 times in the past 24 hours, including 38 times in the Donetsk sector.

The enemy more often attacked the towns of Avdiyivka and Maryinka, the villages of Mayorsk, Zaitseve, Luhanske, using 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of different systems and small arms.

Ukrainian troops reported that an enemy Kamaz truck had been destroyed when they fired back in one of the directions.

The ATO press center stresses that the number of enemy attacks has not decreased, and the Ukrainian armed forces continue to firmly defend their positions.
