They did not use weapons until 10:00 in the morning, the ATO HQ said.
"But after 10 o'clock in the morning, firing at random with the use of a large-caliber machine-gun towards the village of Luhanske was reported. Reports about the use of mounted anti-tank grenade launchers to shell the villages of Troitske and Nevelske began to arrive since noon. Further, the defenders of the town of Avdiyivka came under fire from automated mounted grenade launchers and small arms," it said.
