JCCC: Ceasefire introduced along contact line in Donbas
As of the morning on December 24, the Ukrainian side of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) confirmed the introduction of a comprehensive, sustainable and indefinite ceasefire, starting from 00:00 Kyiv time on December 24 this year, Head of the Ukrainian side of the JCCC, Major General Anatoliy Petrenko said in a statement, the press service of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters wrote on Facebook.
It is noted that the ceasefire has been established along the entire contact line.
"Officers of the Ukrainian side of the JCCC continue monitoring and observing the ceasefire. The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission will be immediately informed about any changes in the situation," the reports says.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ambassador Martin Sajdik, the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on the implementation of the peace plan in the east of Ukraine, announced that the TCG and Russian-controlled militants had declared their commitments to a sustainable ceasefire in Donbas from midnight on December 24.
"We, Trilateral Contact Group members, and representatives of separate areas in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, stressing the need for peace and truce due to the upcoming holidays, confirm our commitments to a comprehensive, sustainable and indefinite ceasefire, starting from 00:00 Kyiv time on December 24 this year," he said.
