Areas near Ukraine's port city of Mariupol turn into hot spot of Donbas war in past day
Russia's hybrid military forces violated the ceasefire in Ukraine's east 13 times in the past day, and they became most active in the sector near the Ukrainian-controlled strategic port city of Mariupol in Donetsk region, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.
"The enemy opened fire on our positions there [in the Mariupol sector] 11 times from 00:00 to 19:00 [on Thursday]," the ATO HQ said in an update based on information as 19:30 local time on Thursday, July 13.

At around 01:00 local time, the criminals lobed at least sixteen 120mm shells into that village, simultaneously opening fire from cannons of infantry fighting vehicles," the ATO HQ said. During the day, enemy provocations were reported in the villages of Pavlopil, Hnutove, Chermalyk, and Lebedynske in Donetsk region. "Our positions in the village of Vodiane came under mortar fire," the ATO HQ said.
The enemy used grenade launchers to attack the town of Avdiyivka in the Donetsk sector and fired from small arms near the village of Krymske in the Luhansk sector.
