"Russian occupying forces once again violated all moral and humanitarian norms and fired on three servicemen who were to evacuate the body of a fallen Ukrainian hero. He was fatally injured today while stepping on an unknown explosive device near the village of Zaitseve," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation Headquarters said on Facebook on Monday.

After receiving confirmation of the "ceasefire" regime, the evacuation team wearing white helmets with identification marks was just a few meters from the body of the killed soldier when the enemy opened fire from small arms. "The group withdrew, but the military medic rushed to help the wounded. At that moment, the enemy started firing grenade launchers of various systems and large-caliber machine guns," the report said.

As a result, the military medic was killed, one serviceman was wounded, while another one sustained a combat-related injury.

"An insidious murder of a medic, who had all the relevant markings, is another evidence that Russia-led forces are not even going to comply with any international law," the press service said.

The bodies of the dead and the wounded soldier are reportedly at the scene of the shooting.

Negotiations with the OSCE SMM on their evacuation are under way.

As UNIAN reported earlier, two Ukrainian servicemen were killed in Donbas on July 13.
