Russian-controlled forces in eastern Ukraine's Donbas since day-start on Friday have violated the ceasefire twelve times, the Joint Forces Operation Command reported in its latest update.

Ukrainian troops returned fire to enemy attacks, the report reads.

So far on Friday, terrorists launched over 220 mines and shells at the Ukrainian defense positions in the Donbas warzone, employing Minsk-banned 122mm artillery, 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers, and other weapons.

No casualties were reported among Ukrainian troops.

As UNIAN reported earlier, an elderly civilian woman was killed as Russian-led forces mortared the village of Zaitseve in the early hours of Friday, July 3.

"At dawn today, on July 3, an armed formation of the Russian Federation once again opened fire to attack the village of Zaitseve. A local woman, born in 1940, was killed in the cynical attack launched from 82mm mortars," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation (JFO) Headquarters said on Facebook on Friday, July 3.
