Yevgeny Yerofeev and Aleksandr Aleksandrov, the troops with the Russian spec-ops forces whom Ukraine had earlier exchanged for Nadiia Savchenko are already dead, according to Ukrainian journalist Andriy Tsaplienko.
"Where are those Russian military Yerofeyev and Aleksandrov, who were exchanged for Nadiia Savchenko? Their lawyers say they’re okay. But, according to my information, someone stabbed Yerofeyev to death in his own house. In turn , Aleksandrov ended up in Syria, being almost immediately reported as 'killed in action'," Tsaplienko told TSN Tyzhden.

This is not the first report claiming the said servicemen's deaths.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Yerofeev and Aleksandrov, the military servicemen with the Russian GRU military intelligence unit, were detained by Ukrainian forces in the combat zone in Luhansk region, Donbas, May 16, 2015.
During interrogation, Captain Yerofeev testified he led a 12-strong sabotage and reconnaissance group, of which Sergeant Aleksandrov was also part.
GRU operatives were sentenced to 14 years in prison.
Subsequently, the two were exchanged for Nadiia Savchenko, a former Ukrainian pilot detained by Russian proxy forces and tried in Russia on trumped up charges of complicity in the deaths of Russian journalists in the Donbas warzone.
