U.S. imposes sanctions on another two Russian companies
The U.S. Department of Commerce has blacklisted Russian companies Avilon Ltd. and Technomar.
The relevant information was posted in the electronic database of the U.S. Federal Register, TASS reports.
The two firms were put on the sanction list because they "are acting on behalf of a listed entity in circumvention of licensing requirements by procuring U.S.-origin items for Technopole Company, which was added to the Entity List on September 7, 2016," the report says.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the EU Council on Friday, March 13, decided that current sanctions in respect of actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine should be extended for a further six months until September 15, 2020.
"These restrictive measures provide not only for a freezing of funds, but also a prohibition against making funds or other economic resources available to the listed persons," the statement reads.
