The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the world exceeded 16.7 million patients as of July 29.

As many as 16,739,530 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported as of 09:34 on July 29, according to the Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

The overall death toll is 660,407 people, while 9,750,452 coronavirus patients have already recovered.

The highest death toll was recorded in the United States (149,258 people), Brazil (88,539), the United Kingdom (45,963), Mexico (44,876), Italy (35,123), India (34,193), and France (30,226).

The countries most affected by the coronavirus pandemic include the United States (4,352,083 confirmed cases), Brazil (2,483,191), India (1,531,669), Russia (822,060), South Africa (459,761), Mexico (402,697), Peru (395,005), Chile (349,800), and the United Kingdom (302,295).

As many as 188 countries have been affected by the virus.
