The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the world exceeded 19.4 million patients as of August 8.

As many as 19,406,765 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported as of 15:35 on August 8, according to the Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

The overall death toll is 721,925 people, while 11,769,949 coronavirus patients have already recovered.

The highest death toll was recorded in the United States (161,367 people), Brazil (99,572), Mexico (51,311), the United Kingdom (46,596), India (42,518), Italy (35,190), and France (30,327).

The countries most affected by the coronavirus pandemic include the United States (4,942,747 confirmed cases), Brazil (2,962,442), India (2,088,611), Russia (880,563), South Africa (545,476), Mexico (469,407), Peru (463,875), Chile (368,825), Colombia (367,204), and Iran (324,692).

As many as 188 countries have been affected by the virus.
