"Those shipments we started in February will continue. We have been supplying the fuel, this is part of the total amount under the contract," the Russian minister said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine and Russia failed to agree on gas issues during the trilateral gas talks in Vienna on Tuesday, and the European Commission will continue looking for solutions to ensure further gas negotiations.

At the same time, National Joint Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine announced it would stop buying gas from Russian gas giant Gazprom, as the supplementary agreement between the two companies, which stipulates the terms of Russian gas supplies, expired on June 30, and conditions for further Russian gas shipments to Ukraine were not agreed at the Vienna talks.
