The United State Embassy in Ukraine says the U.S. has committed to provide Ukraine with US$1 million in additional aid to counter the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

"The United States, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has committed an additional US$1 million to support Ukraine's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This assistance, which will be provided through a Ukrainian NGO, will procure COVID-related commodities, including medical equipment and supplies," the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine wrote on Facebook on May 21.
"To date, the U.S. Government has committed US$15.5 million to support the response to COVID-19 in Ukraine," the statement said.
The United States has invested more than US$5 billion in total assistance for Ukraine over the past 20 years.
