
The decline in industrial production in Ukraine in September 2020 year-on-year – excluding adjustments for the calendar days effect – slowed down to 4.4% after falling by 5.3% in August, the State Statistics Service reports.
Taking into account the adjustment for the effect of calendar days, industrial output in September fell by 5.4% in annual terms, the agency reported on its website.

Output slowdown by industry
In the context of the main activities: in the extractive industry and quarrying in September, the drop on year amounted to 2.9%, in processing industry – to 5.8%, and in the electricity, gas, steam, and conditioned air supply – to 0.2%.
In the context of major industrial groups: the annual production decline for intermediate consumption goods stood at 1.4%, for investment goods – at 19.5%, for short-term-use consumer goods – at 5.8%, and for energy – at 1.3%.
Production of consumer durables increased by 4.5%.
Industrial output: Background
- In 2019, industrial production fell 1.8% after a 1.1% rise in 2018.
- The decline in industrial production in Ukraine in August 2020 year-on-year – excluding adjustments for the calendar days effect – accelerated to 5.3% after falling by 4.2% in July.
