Kyiv funicular stopped for annual technical inspection until August 23

The Kyiv Funicular, which connects the historic Uppertown, and the lower commercial neighborhood of Podil, has been stopped for annual technical inspection until August 23.

The routine maintenance of the funicular is to be performed along with repairs to traction engines, brakes, pantographs, and door mechanisms, according to Kyiv City State Administration's press service, which cites the local municipal enterprise Kyivpastrans.

Flooring and ceiling, as well as means of communications will also be upgraded or replaced.
