The Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra has been closed for quarantine, while members of the monastery headed by Metropolitan Pavel have passed tests for the novel coronavirus.
"From this moment until the official end of the national quarantine, the services at the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra will be held behind closed doors (with live streaming), without the participation of parishioners and pilgrims," the Lavra said on its official website.
During the quarantine, the monastery will perform all canonical services along with live streaming of great holiday, Saturday, Sunday, and Holy Week services.
Members of the monastery, including Vicegerent of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Metropolitan Pavel of Vyshgorod and Chornobyl, have passed tests for the coronavirus.
"The test result will be known in the near future. So far, the vicegerent has no health-related complaints," reads the report.
