MP Nestor Shufrych (Party of Regions) believes that President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko sacked Oleh Rybachuk from the post of his out-of-staff advisor because he criticized President’s Chief of Staff Victor Baloha.

N.Shufrych said this in his comments to UNIAN.

“O.Rybachuk has always been my opponent, especially on the issues, connected with NATO. But, nevertheless, I’m outraged by the cynicism, with which Victor Yushchenko betrayed the politician only because he criticized Baloha and his new party project”, the lawmaker claimed.

According to N.Shufrych, “it seems V.Baloha began to purge dissent in Yushchenko’s entourage. These actions of the [Presidential] Secretariat force one to dwell on the adequacy of its chiefs, and remind me of an old Carpathian truth that the most dangerous animal is a wounded one”.

Besides, in the opinion of Shufrych, “lustrations in the very Secretariat force one to guess whether Yushchenko knows about this dismissal”.

“But, probably, Yushchenko really did not know, or does not want to know, because it is convenient for him. However, he will have to answer, sooner or later, for everything he did or signed”, N.Shufrych added.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on March 4 President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko, with his Decree, dismissed O.Rybachuk from the post of the President’s advisor (out-of-staff).

On February 27, in an interview with BBC, O.Rybachuk surmised that President’s Chief of Staff V.Baloha not always reflects the stance of President Victor Yushchenko, but mostly speaks as an independent political player.

O.Ruybachuk expressed a concern about the role of the Presidential Secretariat in the current tense relations between power branches, as well as between political partners in the government’s coalition.
