Some 45% of Ukrainians would vote for joining NATO should a referendum on Ukraine's accession to the Alliance be held in July 2018.
"If a referendum on Ukraine's accession to NATO took place today, 45% of those polled would vote in favor of accession, one-third [would vote] against, one in ten would not take part in the voting and the same number would find it difficult to decide," say findings of a poll conducted by the Rating Sociological Group.

Geographically, pollees in the west and in the center were more likely to vote for Ukraine's accession to NATO, those in the south and the east would rather vote against it.
In addition, respondents with higher education and income tend to support Ukraine's accession to NATO.
*** The survey was conducted on July 6-14 among the population aged 18 and above through personal formalized (face-to-face) interviews. The sample of 1,200 respondents is representative of the population by age, gender, region and type of a populated locality. The margin of error is no more than 2.8%.
