Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Vasyl Bodnar has said if Hungary does not provide the necessary explanations as for the newly created post of its authorized minister responsible for the development of Transcarpathia, Ukraine is ready to react strongly, including to ban the official's entry.

The Ukrainian government has been expecting official explanations from the Hungarian partners, but so far Budapest remains silent, Bodnar told the news outlet Europeiska Pravda in a comment.

"If there is no reaction, if there are no detailed explanations and if the name of the position is not changed – Ukraine will have to react strongly, we do not rule out a possible ban on entry, although, of course, we would not want that," he said.

Ukraine considers the neighboring state's interference in its internal affairs unacceptable and will take all possible measures of diplomatic influence, he said.

"We see this as another step in the series of destructive, provocative actions on the part of Hungary, which we have recently observed, despite recent progress in the negotiations," Bodnar added.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly protested against Hungary's decision to create the post of an authorized minister responsible for the development of Transcarpathia and develop kindergartens in the Carpathian basin.
