Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetskyi asks President of Ukraine to suspend him from fulfilling duties of Kyiv Mayor for 10 days.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, this is said in the letter of L. Chernovetskyi to the President, which was read by Kyiv Council Secretary Oles Dovgyi before the beginning of the council`s session today.

The letter reads that the Prime Minister and Ministers considered the activity of the Kyiv City State Administration at the yesterday session of government. According to L. Chernovetskyi, during the session there were made statements, which besmirch his honour and dignity.

This is the reason why he addresses the President of Ukraine with a demand to create an independent and unbiased commission, which would study the activitiesof the capital`s authorities.

L. Chernovetskyi asks to suspend him from job for this period, with considering him on leave without pay, on his own will.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on March 7 the Verkhovna Rada decided to create an ad hoc commission, which will prove into the "illegal activities of Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetskiy and Kyiv local government`s officials".
