"The essence and tactics of the Kremlin is to dismember Ukraine. To use Donbas and push this territory of the conflict into Ukraine under the flag of the Russian idea of federalization," he said at the 15th Yalta European Strategy (YES) Annual Meeting titled "The Next Generation of Everything" organized by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, the TV news service TSN said.

Klimkin has also expressed conviction that political realities in Ukraine are not important for the Russian Federation.
