Speaking at a briefing on Sunday, Herashchenko noted that on Thursday, December 25, some 26 trucks with 326 tonnes of humanitarian aid were sent to Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
"Yesterday it was possible to deliver the first part of a humanitarian cargo, including to territories controlled by Russian-backed insurgents," Herashchenko said.
"It is targeted assistance for medical and child care centers, and for all who need it," she said.
"The situation on the territory controlled by the Russian-backed insurgents is very difficult," Deputy Prime Minister Hennadiy Zubko added.
"Every month we supply electricity and gas to these territories, but we don’t receive any payment. The total value of these supplies is already more than $1 billion."
