NATO doesn't recognize sham elections in Donbas
NATO says it does not recognize the sham elections held in Russian-occupied Donbas on November 11.
"NATO does not recognize the reported elections held on November 11 in the self-proclaimed and unrecognized 'Luhansk People's Republic' and 'Donetsk People's Republic," it said in a statement on November 11.
"They run contrary to the letter and spirit of the Minsk Agreements and undermine efforts towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict," it said.
NATO has reiterated that it fully supports Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders. "We continue to call on Russia to withdraw its forces and cease all support to militant groups in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine," it said.
