Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman proposes that Verkhovna Rada approve Oksana Markarova as Minister of Finance and appoint Iryna Friz to the position of Minister for Veterans' Affairs.

“Following consultations with the parliamentary coalition and, guided by the norms of legislation, the Prime Minister decided to send a submission to the Verkhovna Rada for the appointment of Finance Minister Oksana Markarova, who is now an acting minister. Groysman also proposes to appoint Iryna Friz to the position of Minister of Veterans' Affairs," the Cabinet press service said in a statement.

Also, as the government’s press service added, the prime minister suggested that the deputies consider the previously submitted resignation application of Taras Kutovyi, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

UNIAN memo. On February 27, the parliament adopted a resolution “On the Appeal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the Cabinet of Ministers on the establishment of the Ministry for Veterans' Affairs - the central executive body to ensure the formation and implementation of state policy in the field of social protection of war veterans” (No. 7505). According to the decree, the government on the basis of the State Service of Ukraine for the affairs of war veterans and participants of the Anti-Terrorist operation was to establish the Ministry for Veterans' Affairs.

On March 23, the government said they plan to create the new ministry within a month.

September 6, President Petro Poroshenko expressed hope that in the near future, the government and the Verkhovna Rada will decide on the establishment of the Ministry for Veterans' Affairs.
