Mission of Ukraine to the European Union says seven members of the European Parliament have called on Russia to immediately release all Ukrainian political prisoners, including journalist Roman Sushchenko and activist Balukh.

"Today two Ukrainian political prisoners, journalist Roman Sushchenko and activist Volodymyr Balukh, mark their birthdays behind Russian bars. Head of the Mission of Ukraine to the EU Mykola Tochytskyi and members of the European Parliament Mark Demesmaeker [Belgium], Eduard Kukan [Slovakia], Charles Tannock [United Kingdom], Michał Boni [Poland], Rebecca Harms [Germany], Julie Ward [United Kingdom] for NW & Europe and Anna Fotyga [Poland] - Biuro Poselskie wrote letters of support to Volodymyr and Roman and urge Russia to immediately release them and all other Ukrainian political prisoners," the Mission wrote on Facebook on February 8.

"We call on the international community to intensify its pressure on Russia in order to save all them from the Russia captivity," it added.
