Muzhenko: Ukrainian Army security outpost for Euro-Atlantic zone
Chief of the General Staff and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko says the Ukrainian army is an outpost of security for the Euro-Atlantic area.
"The Ukrainian army is an outpost of security for the Euro-Atlantic area," he said at a meeting with representatives of the military diplomatic corps accredited in Ukraine, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
According to the top military official, the strategic direction of the development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine remains unchanged: the Army is developing combat capabilities taking into account administrative, operational, material, and technical compatibility with the troops of NATO member countries.
"Today, no one has any doubt that the Armed Forces of Ukraine, while protecting Ukraine, its sovereignty and independence, also protect the whole of Europe," he said.
Muzhenko says successful Ukraine is possible only if there is a strong, highly motivated and professional army.
