Outgoing Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree on the inauguration of President-elect Volodymyr Zelensky.
Decree No. 228 has been published on the president's website and relates to ensuring the holding of events in connection with the inauguration of the president-elect of Ukraine.
"To properly organize events related to the inauguration of the newly elected president of Ukraine, I decree:
1. To form an Organizing Committee to ensure the holding of events related to the inauguration of the newly elected president of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as the Organizing Committee);
To approve the personal composition of the Organizing Committee;
The Organizing Committee shall approve a plan for organizing and holding the events related to the inauguration of the president-elect of Ukraine within a two-day period;

2. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine shall, in accordance with the established procedure, take measures to invite foreign delegations (representatives of the diplomatic corps) to participate in events related to the inauguration of the president-elect of Ukraine and resolve issues related to their stay in Ukraine;
3. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine shall take additional measures to ensure public order during the preparation and holding of events related to the inauguration of the newly elected president of Ukraine;
4. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the State Administration of Affairs shall ensure financial, material and technical support of events related to the inauguration of the president-elect of Ukraine;

5. The State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine shall provide wide media coverage of events related to the inauguration of the president-elect of Ukraine;
6. The Decree shall enter into force on the day of its publication."
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian lawmakers have set the inauguration of President-elect Volodymyr Zelensky for May 20. The event will start at 10:00 Kyiv time.
