"Russia has been plundering Ukraine in a targeted way. More than 400 Ukrainian enterprises have been illegally nationalized. The adventurist and criminal policy of the occupation authorities is leading Crimea towards economic, social and environmental catastrophe," the statement reads.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Russian annexation of Crimea started in March 2014. At that time, Russia invaded Crimea and quickly arranged a sham “referendum” in the background of the heavy military presence of the Russian armed forces. After that, the Russian Federation provided arms and military training for local fighters in Donbass, who began to destabilize this heavily industrialized area of Ukraine.

Later on, the Russian armed forces themselves invaded Donbass, starting a de-facto war between the Russian and Ukrainian armies. The Ukrainian crisis prompted a number of countries, including the United States, the EU, Canada, Japan, Australia and others to apply sanctions against individuals and businesses from Russia.
