Zelensky: Recent events in Donbas show who wants peace there
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Ukraine together with international partners will "do everything possible and impossible" to return peace to Donbas.
"Ukraine together with international partners will do everything possible and impossible to return peace to Donbas, using diplomacy. I think after the recent events in the east of Ukraine, nobody doubts who really wants and does everything to achieve peace," he said at a joint conference with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara on August 7.
"We greatly appreciate our relations with the Republic of Turkey, our good neighbor, our sincere friend and an important strategic partner," Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian president thanked his Turkish counterpart for Turkey's continued support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
"Thank you for always having the courage to call things as they are – namely Russia's occupation of Crimea," Zelensky said.
