Zelensky eases naturalization of Russian nationals subjected to political persecution

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky simplified the procedure citizens of the Russian Federation who were persecuted for their political beliefs.

He also streamlined the granting of Ukrainian citizenship to foreigners and stateless persons engaged in ensuring national security and defense of Ukraine.

The corresponding decree (No. 594/2019) has been published on the president’s website.

The decree comes into force from the day of its publication.
