Former Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Vorona has been granted Russian citizenship.

The relevant information has been posted on the website of legal information, according to Radio Liberty's Russian service.

In 2010, while holding the post of deputy minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Vorona was dismissed and appointed chairman of the State Migration Service.

In 2011, the then Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych appointed Vorona to the post of deputy minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. In 2012, Vorona was appointed Deputy Minister of Justice.

According to media reports, Vorona is residing in Russian-occupied Crimea after the Revolution of Dignity.
