President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko demands coalition representatives to strictly observe the coalition agreement, in particular, in the part concerning adopting laws, stipulated by the given document.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Ukrainian President’s Press Secretary Iryna Vannikova claimed this to a news conference in Kyiv today.
According to I.Vannikova, during the meeting Victor Yushchenko stressed that should the factions of the majority strictly observe the coalition agreement, it will indicate the real spirit of partnership and efficiency of the coalition.
The President pointed out that draft laws, stipulated by the coalition agreement, have not been adopted as yet.
I.Vanikova recalled that partners on the coalition had agreed to adopt these draft laws before the government was formed. However, the President, considering that no coalition is possible without trust between the partners, and not willing to leave Ukraine without a full-fledged government, decided to urgently propose the candidacy of Yulia Tymoshenko for the post of the Prime Minister, without waiting for fulfilling undertakings by the partners in the coalition.
“The time has come to urgently adopt the draft laws, as they will allow to not only stabilize the political situation in Ukraine, but also to unite efforts of all power branches to solve the most pressing problems of the country”, the Press Secretary cited the President as saying.
I.Vannikova added that the President speaks for urgent adopting a complex of anti-inflation measures, for introducing amendments into the law on state budget, which will correspond to the real social and economic situation in the country.
