The Ukrainian fighter pilot has been held captive for almost a year, while a Russian court ignores her immunity status of a member of the Ukrainian Parliament, which she obtained in last October’s snap elections, Ukraine Today reports.

According to the court’s ruling, Savchenko is to stay in custody at least until June 30, 2015.

Savchenko's lawyer Mark Feygin urged the Twitter community to share the information on the Global Campaign #FreeSavchenko to be held on May 11 marking Nadiya Savchneko's birthday. Feygin added that “lots of people, including leaders of various states, will send their birthday greetings to the Ukrainian fighter pilot and the most famous political prisoner in the world.”
