"Visa-free entry into Ukraine and transit through the territory of Ukraine shall be introduced for the period from January 31, 2020 to January 30, 2021, for citizens of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland if they stay in Ukraine no longer than 90 days within 180 days," according to presidential decree No. 28/2020.

The move is designed to facilitate partnership between Ukraine and Britain, it said. Zelensky has instructed the government to take all necessary measures to implement the decree.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the UK is leaving the European Union on January 31, 2020. The transition will continue until the end of the year.

Ukraine enjoys a visa-free regime with the European Union, but the British had the right to their own visa policies within the EU, and therefore Ukrainians needed a visa to enter the UK.
