Zelensky: People should be confident EU waiting for Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said people should be confident that the European Union is waiting for Ukraine.

"We need to give people confidence that the European Union is waiting for Ukraine," he told the Guardian in an interview.

"People don't really believe in words. Or rather, people believe in words only for a stretch of time. Then they start to look for action," Zelensky said.

According to the Ukrainian president, some European leaders get it, in particular, German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
