US pledges support for NATO rapid response force to protect Europe (Video)
The United States is willing to contribute high tech military equipment along with intelligence and surveillance gear to NATO rapid response forces in Eastern Europe following the alliance’s announcement of plans to raise the number of troops for these forces up to 40,000.
The new measures were voiced by the US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter during his recent visit to Germany, Ukraine Today reports.
Meanwhile, according to the official, U.S. policy toward choosing diplomatic means of deterring the Kremlin’s aggression and also providing Kyiv with military training over directly arming the Ukrainian government remains unchanged.
