The implementation of ceasefire in the war-torn Ukrainian Donbas is possible, say German and French officials, following a meeting with Russian and Ukrainian top diplomats in Paris.

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said that military experts from the OSCE are needed to provide for the actual implementation of diplomatic agreements reached during the discussions, Ukraine Today reports.

Talks between the OSCE and the representatives of Ukraine, Russia, and the Russia-backed militants have been held in Minsk, but with little visible progress, according to OSCE representative Heidi Tagliavini.

There have been constant violations of the truce agreed in Minsk this February, with both sides to the conflict accusing each other of not fulfilling the ceasefire agreement. International experts have recently warned of a possible escalation of hostilities.
