Timothy Snyder, professor at Yale University, sits with Ukraine Today to discuss the geopolitical meaning of Ukraine and Russia's persistence in exerting pressure on its neighbor.

Snyder suggested using a clear language in describing the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, as there has been "the war" going on for over a year since Russia's occupation of Crimea.

Ukraine is not ‘a bridge' between the West and Russia, said Snyder, elaborating on his view of the Ukraine's geopolitical role in the region.

The rise and development of Europe does not make much sense without Ukraine’s legacy, according to an American historian and author, specializing in the history of Central and Eastern Europe. Thus, the Ukrainian history should not be overlooked by foreign experts, Snyder tells Ukraine Today.
