The Block of Vitaliy Klitschko “Pora-PRP” demands to immediately and objectively investigate the wounding of its activist by a policeman.
This is said in the statement of the Block’s Kyiv HQ, forwarded to UNIAN.
“At 1.35 a.m. on 22 March, policeman Oleksander Shumeyko shot and seriously wounded Oleksander Hlobenko, 17-year old activist of “Pora” civil party and student of the National Agricultural University”, reads the statement.
The city HQ of the Klitschko’s Block stresses that the youth was pursued only because he and his friend were sticking leaflets “PORA for Klitschko!”
The policeman shot into the back of O.Hlobenko, when he was lying on the ground with his face down and did not offer any resistance, when the policeman was trying to put handcuffs on him.
The youth underwent an urgent surgery. At present he is in the reanimation department of a Kyiv hospital. As a result of the tragedy, he lost 4 liters of his blood and needs a donor help.
Members of the Klitschko Block are convinced that the pre-election situation in Kyiv is very tense.
“Instead of reliably defending the public order, the Kyiv police became a member of the political process. The shot of the policemen into the defenseless 17-year old youth, who did not violate the public order, indicates that the situation in the law-enforcement agencies is morbid”.
Vitaliy Klitschko, front-runner of Pora-PRP Block, stays in the hospital together with the guy.
