Concerning parliamentary form of government

After the Easter holidays, the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko will propose for consideration of the Verkhovna Rada its own draft of amendments into the Constitution, stipulating a parliamentary form of government in the state.

A BYuT leader, Top Deputy PM of Ukraine Oleksander Turchynov claimed this to a press conference in UNIAN today.

Commenting on the yesterday statement of President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko that one of political forces has its own variant of constitutional amendments, O.Turchynov said that namely BYuT has been working out these amendments.

“We do not wait that somebody will work out Constitution for us, that is why we created a working group”, he said.

O.Turchynov promised that after the May holidays, as soon as the parliament resumes its work, BYuT will present its draft Constitution in public.

Asked whether it will stipulate a parliamentary form of government, the President said: “I think yes”.

At the same time, O.Turchynov dismissed information that as if BYuT was holding talks with the Party of Regions. According to him, it is inexpedient to hold talks with other political forces until the draft law is official proposed for consideration of parliament.
